Poppy and Louis have been working together to write and record their original song,

“Together Forever”, which has now been officially released on Bandcamp (under the name "Maidstone and the Lakes".

The release also includes another original song written by Poppy, “First Touch Honey”

Created through collaboration, creativity, and a shared love of music, Together Forever is a joyful and uplifting song that highlights both Poppy and Louis’s songwriting talents.

Poppy and Louis share their thoughts

Poppy said:

“I think people will like our song. I think it is awesome – my sister likes it! Louis and me wrote the music together and I wrote the words. Together Forever is a love song.”

Louis added:

“Our song is called Together Forever. Poppy came up with the lyrics and we wrote the music together using Cubase. I sang along with Poppy. The song is a happy, positive song about people being in love.”

Supporting creative voices

The song was developed with a little support from bemix, which supports musicians to collaborate, develop their skills, and share their work with a wider audience.

Reflecting on the project, bemix’s Director of Arts and Social Enterprise said:

“It was a joy to work with Poppy and Louis as they wrote and recorded this song. I absolutely love the lyrics. They demonstrate a definite songwriting skill and they hit home on an emotional level. It is so important that musicians with learning disabilities have the opportunity to get their music heard.”
