Jobs and News News Megan Named Finalist in National Learning Disability and Autism Awards 2025! We are thrilled to share that Megan, a trainer in bemix, has been named a finalist in the 2025 National Learning Disability and Autism Awards! Megan is shortlisted in The Oliver McGowan Training Award category for her dedication and for overcoming challenges to share her message and help improve the care and support for Autistic people and people with learning disabilities. As part of her role, Megan co-delivers The Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism™. The training ensures health and social care professionals feel confident and equipped to provide safe, compassionate, and effective care and support. The training is now a legal requirement for all CQC-registered providers under the Health and Care Act 2022. “I believe no one should have to fight for their independence as I’ve had to. This is why I’m so passionate about empowering others. Through my advocate work with Sense and with bemix as an OMMT trainer, I have a strong commitment to improving the lives of people with disabilities.” - Megan Megan’s work with bemix is part of BrightPath – a partnership of experienced organisations delivering the training, led by people who are Autistic and/or have a learning disability. The partnership includes bemix as the lead organisation, Aucademy and Kent Autistic Trust. The training is co-delivered by Autistic trainers and trainers with a learning disability, making sure sessions are engaging, practical, and transformative. With first-hand experience and professional expertise, trainers provide life experience and guidance that empower professionals to support people who are Autistic and/or have a learning disability effectively. Megan’s commitment to speaking up and supporting others has made a real impact. We’re proud to see her work recognised and wish her the very best at the awards ceremony in Birmingham!
