Learners from the Canterbury Preparation for Employment (PfE) group recently enjoyed a day trip to Folkestone as part of their supported employment journey with bemix.

The group travelled by bus to the seaside town and spent time exploring the beach, despite the very windy weather.

During the visit, learners discovered rock pools along the sandy beach and explored some of the creative art installations around Folkestone Harbour.

The trip also gave everyone the opportunity to spend time together, build confidence travelling independently and enjoy new experiences in the community.

After their walk along the seafront, the group really enjoyed fish and chips together at a local restaurant.

Preparation for Employment at bemix supports people to build confidence, develop workplace and independent living skills and prepare for future employment opportunities.

Activities like this help learners grow in confidence, develop social skills and experience new environments together.

The Canterbury PfE group had a fantastic day by the sea and is already looking forward to their next trip.
