Cameron Thriving in Supported Internship Placement at A2 Tyres

Cameron joined the placement with a real passion for cars and a strong ambition to become a mechanic. Finding the right job match was an important step, and from the very beginning, he showed enthusiasm, dedication and a willingness to learn.

Supported internships at bemix are designed to help young people build skills, confidence and experience in real workplaces, while also supporting employers to create meaningful opportunities for future employment.

Cam quickly became part of the team at A2 Tyres, building positive working relationships and showing a strong work ethic every day.

In just one week, Cam was confidently changing tyres with very little support. An impressive achievement that highlights both his determination and growing skills. Since then, he has continued to develop his knowledge and experience across a range of mechanical tasks.

Cam is now supporting with engine checks, identifying leaks, brake pad work and assisting with MOT-related tasks. The team and management at A2 Tyres have shared excellent feedback about his attitude, commitment and eagerness to learn.

As his confidence has grown, so has his independence and ability within the workplace. Cam is now well on track towards potential future employment with the company, which is a fantastic achievement and reflects all of the hard work he has put into the placement.

Cam said:
“I love working here at A2 Tyres. I feel like I have fitted right in with the team. I feel I have learned so much since being here and can change a tyre now on my own, which I am so proud of. I really love helping and watching the mechanical jobs too, which I would like to do more of in the future. Thank you so much for this opportunity.”
